Now Is The Time!

This is the time!
To remember the sacrifices of our forefathers,
National heroes and fallen martyrs
Who paid dearly in blood and tears
For us to live in dignity and peace.

This is the time!!
For our peace loving citizens
Intellectuals, artists, and writers
The youth, the elderly, males and females
The gallant forces in uniforms
Nationalist, democratic compatriots
Not to waver, but stand firm by their convictions
To show for the enemies that a hero never dies
To inspire the generation, as role models.

This is the time to decide seize destiny
Restore our unity and fraternity
To say no to politico- belly
To win back our dignity
To fight and do away with tyranny
And renew our glorious history

This is the time to stand shoulder to shoulder
Like hands in gloves to work together
Not to bring mutually assured destruction
Not to become ashes, to be thrown in the dust bin
Not to bequeath disgrace, to the future generation
But to restore our glorious history as a proud nation.

It is high time, folks
Not to be docile but vigilant,
Not to be timid but audacious
Farsighted and courageous
To stop the sham democrats
So called revolutionary hypocrites
Grave digging dark forces
Blood thirsty monsters
Masters of killing fields,
To get back our liberty at all costs.

“Enough is enough”, folks,
To say no to the divisive tribal warlords,
To stop the aggressors our eternal enemies
Incarnation of a devil, bloody slave masters
To end the suffering of our compatriots
And to save the generation from shame and disgrace.

It is time to fight for our sovereignty
To ensure our territorial integrity
To restore our honour and dignity
To bring change and end misery
To ensure fairness and equality
To bring development in place of poverty
For Ethiopians, to live in harmony and unity.

Now is the time, ah! Ethiopians,
To capture the spirit of Adowa,
Michew, Ambalage and Metema
Walwal, Korahe and Karamara.
Badme, Bure and Zalanbessa
For the survival of beloved ‘Tobia’.
Unless we fight inside- out the enemy
And do away the yoke of tyranny
The fate of the nation seems gloomy
Being cursed to eternal agony.

And-hence, now is the time,
For every freedom loving compatriot
From within and from without
To wake up before it is too late
To rise up and reclaim our fate
To cherish and reassert our ‘Netsanet’
To remain the symbol of hope and shining liberty
To show the world our historic invincibility
And sing “Ethiopia Hoy”, ‘beandinet’.
