Letter Message to TPLF members in Norway July 25, 2005
Dear Editor, The UEDF and CUD support groups held a demonstration on 15th July in Norway. The aim of the demonstration was to appeal to and inform the Norwegian government to press the existing EPRDF government in Ethiopia to stop intimidation, harassment, torture and putting the civilian demonstrators in prison, further to lift the ban from peaceful demonstration. On the demonstration we had slogans and placards which show what it’s going on in Ethiopia. But some TPLF members who reside in Norway as asylum seekers, but whose true face or nature shows that they are the right hand-men of the regime, accused us as if our demonstration alleging that we were against Tigrians as a whole from Ethiopian society. They spread fear among the Ethiopians that the demonstration in Norway would lead to ethnic conflict. Their accusations were written in “Tigregna” and linked to their website the following title: “Resolution by Tigreans in Norway”. We, the UEDF and CUD support committee, would like to express our anger against their accusation by all means. Would you mind linking this attachment to your website? We are very grateful before hand.
UEDF support committee chairman Editor’s Note: TPLF and the people of Tigrai are poles apart. TPLF has qualified itself over the years as an Eritrean Trojan horse. This is a reality our people are fully aware of. Any TPLF statement which bears the name “Tigrai” can’t mislead anyone, particularly at this time when the people of Tigrai constitute part of the larger Ethiopian struggle to bring a peaceful end to the 14-year-old tottering regime of Meles Zenawi.
