Hawassa, Haramaya universities receive radio licenses

University officials
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, February 6, 2012: Dr. Yosef Mamo (left), President of Hawassa University, and Prof. Belay Kassa (2nd right), President of Haramaya University, receive their radio licenses from Ethiopian Broadcast Authority Director, Ato Desta Tesfaw (2nd left), for their new campus based community radio stations.

U.S. Embassy Spokesperson, Diane Brandt (right), represented the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa. The U.S. Embassy is providing financial support for construction, equipment and training of the community radio stations at the two universities. Both stations expect to start broadcasting in two months time on topics relevant to the university communities.
