Ethiopian & Jamaican artists perform at Eth. Heritage Festival in DC

WASHINGTON, DC – The 2nd Year Ethiopian Heritage Festival ended on Sunday at Georgetown University with Guests of Honor His Eminence Abune MelkeTsedik and journalist Abebe Gellaw making brief but impressive appearances. His Eminence gave blessings while Abebe received Heritage awards on behalf of imprisoned jounrnalist Eskinder Nega and other journalists.

Artists Tsehai Yohannes and Abdu Kiar fired up the crowds by playing nationalist songs.

Legendary reggae artist Tony Roy performs at the 2nd day of the Ethio pian Heritage Festival held at Georgetown University. Endowed with a uniquely soothing and inspiring voice at the same time, Roy hails and sings about Ethiopia, much to the delight of the audience. Ethiopian artists Abonesh and Shambel, among others, also played in the company of children, who are the focus of the Ethiopian Heritage Society in America (More coverage later).
