Please accept my appreciations for the great things you are doing for our people and our country. I have praised my God “thank you my God for Ethiomedia.” What makes Ethiomedia so unique is that it dispels the misunderstanding between the rest of the Ethiopian people and the greatly misunderstood Tigrayan people and by doing so cementing the Ethiopian Unity. Some think, it is Tigray that has brought all the havoc that has engulfed our nation. Some think Tigray is benefiting from all the trouble that has come upon our nation. It is unfortunate to think that way. Thanks to Ethiomedia again for the efforts to help us realize the needed unity among all Ethiopians by defogging some suspiciously held thoughts.
Your political analysis of the “three-headed hydra,” (Credits to AH) is extraordinarily brilliant. All along some of us were crying aloud that we are ruled by Eritrean thugs. It is not a question of democracy as some try to tell us. It is rather a systematic, well-engineered destruction of Ethiopia and anything Ethiopian: Our history, our culture, our economy, our statehood.
Remember they told us we have only 100 years of history as a nation.
Remember they told us the Ethiopia flag is just a piece of “Cherq.”
Remember they told us that they are the engineers of Eritrean independence.
Remember they told us that the Eritrean GUN will not be turned upside down. And as a result thousands of Ethiopians were consumed by that GUN.
As the result Ayder kids were consumed by it when they were schooling.
As the result the historical Eyrob was raped and humiliated. Badme and its environs bulldozed by it.
As the result we lost our frontiers-the Afar land and its people.
As the result many Ethiopians and mostly from Tigray were stripped of their properties and driven out of Eritrea 1991-2. When the victims complained, they were told “why did you go there; it is their country.” But we are told that Eritreans can live in Ethiopia and even now many returnee Eritreans are enjoying life in Ethiopia with their jobs returned along with back pays.
As the result over 200 innocent civilians were mowed down during the post-election unrest.
As the result, Ethiopian heroes and heroines (Seye Abreha, Dr Berhanu, Birtukan et al) were feared by the ruling party as defenders of the national interests of the people and of the country. They are in prison because they are dreaded as men and women of vision who would do whatever it takes to restore the honor and glory of the country – something Meles sees as a real threat to Eritrean Independence, which Sebhat said would defend at any cost!
What more evidence do we need to know, that we are actually being colonized by the very province that accused Ethiopia of colonizing it? It is laughable to talk to these thugs in terms of democracy. It is like the buffalo calf in Ethiopian Review Web-Site asking the lions “let us talk about how we can live together.” My fellow Ethiopians, unless we understand this realty, we are doomed to continue failing to bring the change our beloved nation needs. We will remain stack indefinitely. It will just be beating around the bush with no desired outcome. Yes, the desired outcome of all our efforts is democracy but we are playing with wrong variables. The Meles-Sebhat-Bereket, the triple-headed hydra – are not there to give us alms of democracy, rather they are there to devour and engulf the nation with blood bath.
In conclusion, I want say, our unity is indispensably important if our efforts are to be effective and efficient! It is unfortunate however, that we are terribly divided. Some of us speak and write emotionally without thinking their concomitants. Some of us speak and write the same way the enemies of Ethiopia write and speak – Ethnic instead of nationalistic. To quote one example is “Ethiopian Review and its Contributors.” Least to say, I have never witnessed such a destructive medium to the Ethiopian unity. Ethiopian Review and its contributors seem to work hard to replace evil with evil, ethnicity with ethnicity-perpetuating fragmentation of our country. This has to stop. More to this, the generalized condemnation of Woyane must stop for we have people who died for the wellbeing of the nation and there are still in the organization who are lurking and waiting for the right time to strike on the venomous Trio. Do not frustrate the struggle to fight the enemy within what you call Woyane. Do not forget thousands have died within Woyane just because they did not support the Eritrean agenda. “ErTra ZeyBele YtiAleh” – “Ertra YeMaYil YweGed!” was the motto used to purge nationalists.
History will judge us if we fail to separate the wheat from the chaff, respect these heroes and heroines. Many like Hayelom Araya who stood for their Ethiopiawinet were massacred by the 3-headed hydra. May God help us see who are ours and who are not. We must not generalize because generalizing would only serve the vested interest of the self-acclaimed guardians of the independence of Eritrea.
Another point I’d like to bring to the attention of opposition leaders is how unwise it is to forge alliance with Shaabia. This is indeed despicable. At a snap of a finger, they have lost the support of the Tigrayan people, to say the least (As is with the TPLF, what concessions have they made to be accepted by Shaabia? What have they promised the Eritrean Independence?)
Truly these forces have given themselves to the jaws of the three-headed hydra. They have forgotten that Shaabia is the one ruling in Ethiopia via proxy. If there seems to be a problem with Shaabia and The Trio as Ethiomedia has put it, it is “who is more Eritrean?” When the day comes you will all be handed over to the enemy. Better fight the enemy from within the country than without under the watchful eye of Shaabia.
May God help us see beyond our ethnic identities and remain united as one and one = Ethiopians.
