Ethiopian Israelis accord human rights activist Obang Metho warm welcome

JERUSALEM – Ethiopian Israelis who care for the wellbeing of Ethiopia accorded human rights activist Obang Metho a hero’s welcome. The activists were waving Ethiopian and Israeli flags when they welcomed Obang to their fold. Obang flew to Israel after testifying before a June 20 US Congressional session and about the human rights violations in Ethiopia. Fellow patriots in Israel used the popular song “Abet!” as a background music during their welcoming ceremony. Many other Ethiopian communities are expected to adopt “Abet” as a motive for social movement for a better Ethiopia!
