I am a bibliomaniac of a first degree type; and wandering all through the streets and second-hand bookshops of Addis for many a good years. One Sunday, while I was searching for the old Amharic books, I bought the first edition of Ar’a’ya by Girmachew Teckle Hawariat. On the Dedication Page, just below, there is a very beautiful calligraphy that can fix your eyes unconsciously, written in 1944 E.C. The book was an award by Emperor Haile Selassie for the then grade six Hagos G. Yesus who stood first, probably in the whole country. I will be very much pleased to send this book for Hagos, if it gives him a sort of mental excursion through trail of time in his intellectual odyssey and make up; though I still love and value it much.

TPLF and EPLF: Two faces of the same coin

Dear Ethiomedia,

Louis Mitchell had also embraced the killer and treasonous dictator
Meles Zenawi and has saddened and shocked Ethiopians. Why is this outrage
when the same commissioner accepted Isaias?. It is well known that the
cruel tyrant, Meles Zenawi is the making of Isaias Afwerki and has
sacrificed the lives of thousands of Tigrayans for the cause of Isaias.
Their wars were all about weakening and eliminating Ethiopia as a
country, not against the derg as Adhanom wants us to accept. The TPLF is waging
a futile and stinking propaganda to present Meles Zenawi as the opponent
of the EPLF or Isaias.

Ethiopians would not buy these cheap shots and get deceived again and
rally behind the blood sucker Meles Zenawi. The gourmand cadres of
Meles Zenawi are insulting our intelligence when they with out shame come out
and tell us that Meles Zenawi is concerned about Eritrea`s destabilizing
actions against Ethiopia. The TPLF guys should know that they can not
win the hearts and minds of Ethiopians by churning out this stinking
propanda.

The top priority of Ethiopians should be to remove the EPLF in the Arat
Kilo palace, Meles and his thugs. Guys stop this futile diversioanry
tactic of redirecting the fokus from the EPLF in Arat Kilo to the EPLF
in Asmara. Any Ethiopian concerned about the well being of Ethiopia and the region
should abandon our internal enemy Meles Zenawi and join the struggle
for democracy, freedom and justice in Ethiopia.

Note to Ethiomedia.

I appreciate and commend Ethiomedia`s efforts to entertain diverse
opinions and views. On the other hand, Ethiomedia should also scrutinize
contributions in order not to compromise its reputation as a pro-democracy and
pro-freedom web site. The shameless and unscrupulous cades of Meles
Zeanwi should not be allowed to use you under the guise of opposing the EPLF.
