TORONTO (Ethiomedia) – The rising popularity of the Migration of Beauty has now gripped Toronto, where there is also a sizeable Ethiopian community. This award-bound documentary film by Chris Flaherty would be screened at
Bloor Cinema. By the way, what is the story behind the Migration of Beauty?

MIGRATION OF BEAUTY – In 2005 the Ethiopian government massacred some 200 unarmed civilians after a disputed national election. Ethiopians in the United States reacted by using their U.S. citizenship to impose foreign aid restrictions against their native country. Migration of Beauty shows how citizenship in the U.S. can lead to political empowerment when immigrants engage the system. It further shows how civic involvement can influence issues concerning human rights and democracy on a World scale. If not sold out, tickets are available for $10.00. (See

When questions pop up in connection with the Migration of Beauty, film producer Chris Flaherty would be in your midst to address them.
