Nuremberg Protest Rally Calls for Democracy & Justice in Ethiopia

Ethiomedia | June 20, 2011

NUREMBERG, Germany – Residents in this Germany city on June 18 denounced the continued human rights violations in their native country. The pro-democracy activists called on the German government to investigate whether its support being delivered to help the Ethiopian people was being used to consolidate the power of the corrupt Meles/TPLF regime in power.

The rally was held to also commemorate the 6th anniversary of the stolen 2005 elections in which the government killed at least 193 protesters. Meles has been in power since 1991, and many political observers believe it is a matter of time before he faces charges of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
