One of many inspiring letters

Selam Ethiomedia editor,

I read a moving article on ethiomedia by Jerusalm Araya over the character and conviction of Dr Nagaso. He is a man of great substance who kept himself clean from corruption and nepotism. His political standing is that of reconciliatory and unity in diversity. He stood on the side of Ethiopian people. To my knowledge, there is no place the world where ex president of a country does not have a descent home of his own or a vehicle. Most of all, his savings could not allow him to cover 8000 Euro cost of his treatment.

Ethiopians should step in to help him out at this time of his need. What way can Ethiomedia help? Can you open a financial account on your site where wider reader could contribute. The amount of the required money is just nothing. It only needs a good coordination to make it happen. Please help.

Best regards,

Wondwossen

Seattle activists to meet over Negasso condition

SEATTLE – Ethiopians who learned that opposition figure Dr. Negasso Gidada has no funds to cover his medical expenses will meet Friday from 6pm to 8pm at Assimba Restaurant on Cherry and Martin Luther King.

Organizers said volunteers who would like to help the former head of state but wouldn’t be available for the Friday meeting may pledge by phone calling Kirubeal at 206-372-0734.

Dr Negasso was a former member of the ruling Meles Zenawi regime but pulled himself out after equating Meles Zenawi with former dictator Mengistu Haile-Mariam over brutal human rights violations.
