Dr. Donald Levine lectured at the University College of Addis Ababa and organized its first seminar on Ethiopian Studies in 1959. He attended the first two international conferences on Ethiopian Studies (Rome, 1959; Manchester, 1963) and hosted the Fifth International Conference of Ethiopian Studies at Chicago in 1978. Over the years Dr. Levine has served as an expert consultant on Ethiopia for branches of the U.S. Federal Government, including the Agency for International Development, the Peace Corps, the Department of State, the U.S. Senate, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service. He has been honored by awards from the Ethiopian Research Council and the Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago.

From San Francisco, 101-Southbound: From Oakland follow 880 South

· US-101 SOUTH ( Drive about 35 miles)
· Take the I-880 SOUTH exit towards LOS GATOS/SANTA CRUZ
· Merge on I-880 SOUTH
· Take the 1 ST exit towards DOWNTOWN San Jose .
· Turn left on North 1st Street (First Light on the Exit)
· Turn Left on E. Taylor St
· Turn Right on North 4th
· Continue Driving until you hit Santa Clara St.
· North 4th st will change to South 4th after crossing Santa Clara St.
· Stay on 4th st and Cross San Fernando st
· Pass the new San Jose State University (SJSU) Library

· Stay on the right side and Park in the Pavilion Garage

(Free Parking) or on left side as soon as crossing San Carlos
SJSU Garage is available free of charge as well

From Palo Alto, South San Francisco; US Highway 101-Southbound

· Take US Highway 101 south into San Jose
· Exit Highway 280 Southbound
· Take the 7th Street Exit
· Turn right on to 7th Street
· Turn right on REED St
· Turn right on south 3rd st
· Turn right on San Fernando st
· Right on south 4th
· Pass the new San Jose State University (SJSU) Library

· Stay on the right side and Park in the Pavilion Garage
