WASHINGTON, DC – Prominent religious leaders, scholars, human rights activists are calling on all Ethiopians to join hands in the protest against the ethnic-apartheid leader Meles Zenawi. Aba Filipos, Dr. Aklog Birara, Ahmed Ali Nur & Tamagne Beyene, respectively, went on ESAT Radio and made the call for an Ethiopian protest against the regime that has deliberately fragmented the country along ethnic lines, while chocking the economic and political life of the Ethiopian people.
Since coming to power in 1991, the government of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has committed enormous crimes, including crimes against humanity as well as genocide. Inviting a tyrant to a summit of the G-8 stature is regarded by Ethiopians and all other peace-loving peoples as an insult on the conscience of humanity, according to organizers of the pending protests.
