At some point when one wakes up from that “green haze” surely one has to think that this state of affairs just cannot be sustained. I doubt neither Zenawi nor his tribal consiglieres and the many opportunists surrounding him are oblivious to the fact that mere mortal Ethiopians are not endowed with the patience of Job.
With each passing day, even Zenawi’s major benefactors have to realize that this man is a menace to Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, even though they dare say it. For those of us in America, we just have to wait until they all leave office and sign up with Simon and Schuster. It is amazing how people, then, become born again moralists once their “tour of duty” has come to an end.
In the mean time, the charade that is so thick one can cut it with a knife, continues.
Hear me Mr. Zenawi, you might be fighting for your political life, but the leaders of CUD-Kinijit along with Ethiopians at home and in the diaspora are fighting for the very heart and soul of Mother Ethiopia. And we all know, who will come out triumphant.
Your quarrel has never been with CUD-Kinijit or its leaders, your quarrel is with democracy itself. Twenty-six million Ethiopians who voted on May 15, 2005 have
already given their verdict on that. No deal!
