When did arrive for first time to Jaen?

“I arrived on 17 May 2009 on hands of company called Ghenova Engineering to perform my responsibility of railway-tramway superstructure.

Do you consider the tramway project viable in the capital, taking into account the specific orographic features in Ja輹?

A tram is viable for any city and citizen who has the mentality of sustainable transport system. Many cities around the world seeking funds to install a tram and
Therefore, I think it’s really viable for a mountainous town like Jaen, where the people fight against gravity. I think the tram system should pose Ja輹
as a core integrator for the various residential neighborhoods which serve as connection of these with some much needed points for public transport capacity
such as the railway station, the University Hospital and the polygon Neurotraumatol窕ico

Throughout your career as an engineer, have you ever encountered in a work of such magnitude?

To be honest no. Ja輹’s case is challenging. So far I have participated in 549 miles of track line construction and rehabilitation between urban and conventional railway all over the world and develop different reports on railway for individuals and state agencies of various countries. Build a tram in Jaen is very complicated, especially for ramp of the Paseo de Estaci蚤, the curve of the Plaza de Ja輹 Por la Paz and with the extreme weather that will affect the metallic material (track). There are many technical aspects to be taken into account and in this sense, it is crucial to see what kind of metal (track) is placed, and the rolling stock (train) to be contracted.

Do you think they are right who think that the tram will collapse more traffic to Jaen?

During my stay in Ja輹, in one form or another, everyone has asked that question. And, in my national and international experience, I think politicians are right when they say the city with tram is more dynamic, more modern and better job opportunities. A ramp city of Jaen need public transport such as tram, which activates and updates aesthetically, since everyone will enjoy it: the traveler, the shops around the track line and the tourists. It is essential that people understand that the Ja輹압 tram system offers transport efficiency as a commuter with a plus of comfort, safety, profitability and environmental compatibility to meet the requirements concerning the protection of our environment. No wonder it is a politically and electorally controversial issue, but it will not collapse the city압 traffic. On the contrary.

What peculiarities has Jaen압 tram system compared to others that you have worked?

Most are technical, but a peculiarity is that the track is used girder rail weighing about 60 kilograms per meter. The other peculiarity is that the rolling speed not exceeding 60 miles per hour and, finally, the tram takes an embedded rail (at the same level of asphalt) due to the growing need for sharing of rolling platform sharing with other means of transport .

Do you know if any complications arose during the development of the work?

Obviously there are complications, more like a work of Jaen, geometrically complex and difficult constructively. My objection is not technical, however, but personal to the person who manages the project. The specification of Railways Board (Ferrocarriles de la Junta ) makes clear.

Any other difficulties?

Yes. The other complication is that foreign companies want to lecture us about the construction of a tramway. Those coming from outside is okay to come and work here because we go there too, but we Spanish engineers are humbly good enough to meet the challenges we face. The original design was from Ghenova Ingenier眼 and it was pretty good, much better compared with the current design, which introduced technical complications.

Will be any modification to the planned profile of project?

As I am not at the project work any longer then I can not know anything about that.

Does the deadlines will be met or believe there may be a delay?

The answer is resounding and emphatic yes, because the construction company UTE (Joint Venture) has competent people who will comply with the construction process if (JV) is provided an adequately guidelines from supervisor.

How do you solve the problem of noise when the tram-train starts rolling and operating?

Inevitably, it will make noise (squeal) in its first month of the life (up to three months). In all rail and tram systems, more in the case of Jaen, not only noise but also the lateral stability of the rails, it is important to limit the risk of derailing, and excessive wear on curves that can cause noise pollution. Support for continuous elastic support points of the rails is to prevent noise and prefabricated encapsulation CDM-jacketing technology used in this work is one of the best in Anglo-Saxon countries. It is an unknown company that is responsible for providing rolling stock material (tram), but it’s important to think well on how to reduce the time of grinding on the Paseo de la Estaci蚤 and acute curve like the Plaza de Ja輹 por la Paz.

Why you are not in the project anymore?

I am needed more in the Ghenova압 main office to fill Ghenova압 greater responsibility than I currently have in the project of Jaen.

He arrived to Ja輹 as chief engineer of Tram Superstructure Unit, though his company called him to other larger duties.
